Blade Runner Warning

Well, I don't know if this qualifies for this assignment, but I need somewhere to share my reflections on this clip. Having watched both "Blade runner" movies prior, and always spending long hours on reflections afterwards, I love looking at them through different eyes every time I watch an interpretation like this. And I strongly agree with one of the points this guy has been making - that it's a waring message to us, not to follow easy paths as we tend to do, because it makes us shallow, routine-based, and we lose life opportunities by not taking any risks. The movie appeals obviously to far future, but its warning is applicable even now - don't overuse commodities like Tinder, where you can discard a person at the first sign of slight obstacle between you and just seek the applause for who you are, but go out into the world and live for real, because when we replace our real life with technological one as priority no.1, that's when we're on the lost side of being human.

    Isn't the phrase 'to be on the LOSING side' of history/ ...?
    Not having seen Blade Runner, I can't really empathise with your views on the film but I can, and do, with the conclusions you've drawn.

Why in the age of science do so many people believe in supernatural things?

In my humble opinion, the main cause for people’s belief in supernatural things is their lack of understanding of science that denies them. Present-day science is so complex, and so difficult, that It can’t be understood by each of us alone. That’s why whole world develops it, but it should be whole world’s scientists job as well, to deliver it to plain citizens. To make them understand it, even simplified, so that people didn’t need to turn to belief in supernatural things to explain phenomenas. When we make the society aware of science that lies in the basics of our world, people might abandon those silly beliefs. There is much truth to those words... None of known science would be discovered if not people who wondered about unknown...

Should guns be legalized in Poland?

I do not feel wise enough to give a simple "yes" or "no" answer to this question,  because both sides of this debate have some convincing arguments, so my answer would preferably be somewhere in the middle. That is, I disagree with supporters' claim that possessing a gun would be an only way to protect yourself if there was such need, because even now there are numerous non-lethal defensive measures, like tasers or pepper sprays. On the other hand, I agree that current interpretation of law should be changed, to allow victims to defend themselves if attacked, because prosecuting such people for injuring attacker in self-defense is something sick. Then again, I neither agree completely with the other side. I don't perceive the idea of making guns more available as fundamentally wrong. I believe introducing it in a well-controlled and orderly way could be beneficial for the society, but sadly I don't see any politician I would trust to do it properly,

Aging - doom or an illness to cure?

I know that so far I've been writing more of new technology and it's impact on our lives, or its presence in it, but this article will be a little different. Yesterday, while strolling through the internet, I stumbled upon a few videos regarding Aging and current ongoing studies which are aimed to stop aging, or at least slow it down. Even though none of the techniques have been tested on humans yet, the results are very promising. After the trials on model organisms - mice - the preliminary results show that we could increase our lifespan by up to 40-50% or if we are succesful, maybe even double the maximal possible age of human being. According to that study, we could also free ourselves of the majority of diseases and illnesses resulting from our body's malfunctions and cell fatigue, like i.e Alzheimer, or heart failure. Maybe one day we could forget about such thing as natural death, or senescence as a whole? This sounds like a utopian world - nobody dies from ill
