The Tree of Life - Brief review

Obraz
The Tree of Life, narrated by David Attenborough is a great clip showing in a nutshell the essence of theory of evolution. As the presenter explains the stages and history of life evolution on Earth, and the correlation between each group of organisms, we are presented with very pleasant animations, that complement the narration perfectly. In addition to that, I very appreciate that the presentation is strongly backed by scientific research done in recent years, and its credibility is unquestioned, thus being very reliable source of information for people.

Would I like to work in Mandarin Oriental Hotel

Obraz
I don’t think I would like to work in this Hotel, because I don’t consider myself suited for such place. I wouldn’t be comfortable with wearing suit every day, or fancy uniform like the doormen do. I would feel weird and quite awkward. Also, I’m not quite fond of bending my neck all the time and fulfilling wildest dreams of anybody, even if I’m paid adequately. It’s just not me, and I think that knowing myself and the reality in that hotel, I would just not be the right person to work there.

Is it possible that we will stop being a throwaway society?

Obraz
The possibility of us stopping to be a throwaway society is very low, and that is mainly thanks to our economy. Over the years, we came to using many things only once, which is a motor to the market - there is high demand for new things, new technology is developed, money flows, people have jobs, and everyone is happy. You can’t change this in a blink of an eye. Corporations would protest, because if someone forced them to produce more durable, and repairable things, they would lose money from revenue, fire workers. In the summary, the chance for changing this mindset is low, because we as humans wouldn’t be able to evolve both technologically, and economically if not for it.
